For oil refinery - if you really want to use it (heating oil to 400C is much more efficient way to convert oil to petroleum) you can place it near oil well, oil coming out of it will be enough to keep refinery from overheating. When converting oil to petroleum in a refinery you will lose half of your mass: it inputs 10kg/s of oil and outputs 5kg/s of petroleum. Note: You can turn oil into petroleum with 100% efficiency by heating up the oil to just over 400C. Then, whatever amount of oil you heat up will become that same amount of petroleum.

This systems automation is really clever and aesthetically looks great too. This is an amazing self contained metal refinery. That being said, I personally prefer to simply delete the heat from hot oil created by the metal refinery by hooking it up to my oil refinery with a liquid element sensor so that any time the metal refinery is outputting hot oil the oil refinery prioritizes consuming.

It produces a lot of heat, and dumps part of it into coolant liquid. A Metal Refinery requires a Liquid Intake and Output Pipes, 400 kg of Liquid as a coolant (stores 800 kg, and can accept 400 more while the task is scheduled), Duplicant operation, and 1.2 kW.

Here I tried running the oil all around the structure so that it would absorb as much heat as possible through the granite pipes. Radiant pipe in the floor for the metal tiles. Adding another layer of metal tiles for the left wall of the refinery didn't do much, either. In no time the refinery caps 125C while the environment remains at 75C.
